Allison Meisner

I am a staff scientist in the Biostatistics, Bioinformatics and Epidemiology Program within the Vaccine and Infectious Diseases Division at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. I am also an affiliate faculty member in the Department of Global Health at the University of Washington, where I work in the International Clinical Research Center. I received my PhD in Biostatistics from the University of Washington, where I worked with Katie Kerr. Prior to joining Fred Hutch, I was a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Biostatistics at Johns Hopkins University.

My current research primarily relates to HIV prevention trials, including work with the HIV Prevention Trials Network (HPTN) and implementation studies in Sub-Saharan Africa. I am also involved with trials of COVID-19 and tuberculosis diagnostic tests. As a postdoc, my research focused on polygenic risk scores (PRS), including the development of novel methods for utilizing PRS and research related to the application of PRS. My dissertation work involved the development of new methods to construct biomarker combinations for risk prediction. Broadly, I am interested in collaborative research, including the development of novel statistical methods to address challenges that arise in the course of this research.
